Τhe film The Incredible Story of the Giant Pear won the 2018 Audience Award for Best Feature Film at the 1st Athens International Children's Film Festival. The film will be distributed in Greece by Weirdwave. The Athens International Children's Film Festival took place 7-9 December at Megaron, the Athens Concert Hall and was warmly received by family audiences in its first edition. See you in 2019!

Τhe film Ant, directed by Julia Ocker, won the 2018 Audience Award for Best Short Film at the 1st Athens International Children's Film Festival. The film delighted young audiences. The School Award, voted by an 82-student jury from this year's partner schools (Pierce - The American College of Greece and Lycée Franco-Hellénique Eugène Delacroix), was awarded to Kim Brand's short film, Hello Salaam. The director was present and received her accolade. Hello Salaam will next be screened on Sunday 9 December at 13:45 during The Highway Rat and other stories, and on the same day at 18:00, right after the Audience Awards ceremony, along with other selected shorts from the whole festival.



For the first time in Athens, films from all around the world for children and young adults will have their own celebration for 3 days at Megaron, the Athens Concert Hall! 74 films, short and feature-length, animated and live action, from 30 different countries in 22 different languages, will premiere at the ATHICFF for the Greek audience. Kids and teens from 3 to 18 years old are cordially invited to enjoy them.

The Athens International Children’s Film Festival aims to initiate a dialogue with schools, students and educators. Through a specially prepared school screenings programme, discussions on the ideas and technical approaches seen in the films, as well as filmmaking workshops, the festival fosters a connection with the students and encourages their creativity and critical thinking.
