As part of the Inclusion in Action educational program, the Festival invites the audience to a screening with content accessibility services. The goal is to introduce and familiarize the audience with accessibility tools – audio description, social stories, interpretation in Greek, SDH subtitles – through a shared, equal cinematic experience.
Maria Thrasvoulidi, Accessibility Services Manager at liminal, and Katia Papaspiliopoulou, Director of Education of the Festival, will provide an introduction to the available accessibility tools in cinema, followed by a sensory-accessible screening with interpretation in English and audio description.
The program ‘Inclusion in Action’ is made possible through the donation of the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation. The design and methodology employed are the result of collaboration with accessibility and inclusion consultants from liminal and TheHappyAct. ‘Accessibility in Action’ program is available throughout the school year and is aimed at both special education and mainstream schools.
