About the Film
11-year-old Ben is moving to a new city with his family, when his home-town is turned into a mine. Ben is having some difficulty adjusting to his new school and he finds refuge in returning to his old house. His only joy in life, playing football, is threatened by the arrival of 12-year-old Tarik, a Syrian refugee who is a better player than him. However, when bureaucracy starts to get in the way of Tariks life and he runs away, Ben discovers his hiding place and finds out that all Tarik really wants is to be reunited with his scattered family. As a gesture of kindness, Ben shares with him his biggest secret, his old village.
A wonderful film about how a rivalry on the pitch can be transformed into friendship and understanding
